Man jailed after Spar shop robbery

A Willaston man has been jailed for three years and 11 months after admitting robbing the Spar shop in Willaston at knife point on January 16, 2016.

Steven Wesley Johnston, aged 27, of Tynwald Road, also admitting a wounding charge after hitting a man with a glass in Sugar Sugar nightclub in Wellington Street in Douglas in March 2015.

He was also found guilty after a jury trial at the Court of General Gaol Delivery of robbing a man in the street in October 2015.

Johnston was sentenced to 13 months for the wounding, 11 months for the street robbery and one year and 11 months for the Spar robbery.

He was also was banned from licensed premises for 20 months.
